The Outpouring of God's Blessing
"For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit on your descendants and My blessing on your offering. They will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses." Isaiah 44:3-4
devotion:
In this passage, God promises to our out two things on the children of those who thirst after Him: His Spirit and His blessing. A blessings is any benefit from God that causes happiness, fulfilment, or wholeness in a person's life. When God pours out his blessing on our children, we can expect their needs to be met; physically, materially, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Blessed children are happy children. They do not have fragmented personalities and are not empty-hearted. They are fulfilled and contented, walking in God's purpose. They tend to then pass the blessing on to others that the blessing of God might fill the earth.
prayer:
LORD GOD, I thank You by faith for Your blessing descending on my child. Let it pour down like the rain of heaven. I believe that this divine blessing will be evidenced in every area of my child's life: physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Your Word declares that "the blessing of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow with it" Thank You for enriching Jeremiah Parker Shelby with all the benefits that You have promised in Your Word - crowning his life with the best that heaven can provide - in Jesus' Name, AMEN (let it be so!)
Aaron and I read this devotion last night, it was too powerful to share. What is already evident, how Jeremy, before his arrival has poured out the blessing of the Lord on Aaron and me. It is simply a matter of opening our eyes and seeing it. Just imagine what is to come!
GRACE AND PEACE!
okay - sorry I had to add the Word from joel, ever encouraging!
An Opportunity for God’s Favor
Today's Scripture
“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him” (John 9:3 NLT).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
In the Bible, we read of a man who was born blind. Some people were asking Jesus, “Why was he born this way?” “Whose fault was it, his or his parents?” They were trying to find someone to blame, some reason, some excuse for his condition. And interestingly, we tend to do the same type of thing today. But I love the way Jesus answered them; He said, “It’s not anybody’s fault. The reason this man was born this way was so that the goodness of God could be displayed in his life.” Then He touched the man and healed him. When you have a setback, when life deals you a tough blow, when the economy is unstable, don’t get bitter. Don’t settle there. Recognize you are a prime candidate for God to show His favor and goodness through. When the storms of life come, your attitude should be, “God, I’m ready! I know You have something great in store! I refuse to live defeated and depressed. I know this difficulty is simply another opportunity for You to show Your goodness through me.”
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing to show Your glory and goodness through me. I choose to stand in faith, knowing that You are working all things out for my good. I bless You and thank You for Your faithfulness! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
for real ... GRACE AND PEACE!

Hi Beth,
This is a link to my friend, Aimee Weather's site. She is someone I met online when I was pregnant with Rachel. Like you, she is a pastor's wife. She lives in Alabama and if you ever want to email her, just tell her you're a friend of mine.
Aimee has been where you are. She truly will understand everything you're going through.
