From Stormies Heart

My daily reading Friday was so powerful - I have to share it ... first a recap - I am reading the Power of a Praying Woman Bible - through out the bible are various prayers, insights and short articles from Stormie Omartian.

From Stormies heart on Friday was titled:
Have Faith that with God all things are possible

MIRACLES, happen because people have faith. Not faith in miracles, faith in God, who performs miracles. ( I am praying daily for a miracle, the more Jeremy moves, I praise God and thank him )

Stormie goes one to make this statement: What do you do when you hear bad news? If you received a bad report from the doctor after test results were in, would it cause your heart to sink and fear to rise? Would depression settle over you like a dark blanket of dread? If that ever happens to you for any reason, begin immediately to praise God. Praise Him out loud if you are in position to do so. Sing praise and worship songs to Him until the grip of sadness or shock is broken. Thank Him that because of who He is, anything is possible. Pray about the specifics. Tell Him your needs, requests, concerns, and fears. Tell Him all the reasons you love Him. Thank Him for His Word and quote His Word in your prayers. As you do that, your faith will increase. The more it increases, the more you will be able to face your doubts and fears and say,"With God all things are possible. Blessed be the name of the Lord"
Stormie goes on to explain that God responds t our faith as a sign of love. He will reward us for believing in him, for trusting him, for loving him.
Finally she concludes with this thought: The more you express your love for God in praise, the more you will understand His greatness. Then you will see that nothing is too hard for him - not even the miracle you need in your life right now.

Friday, when I got home from school, I always get the mail. Friday I received in the mail the written results from the Amino at home - I only skimmed the letter, but nothing had changed in the report. But thankfully, my bible was still open to this article. I reread it, then praised God. Turned on my praise music, got ready for Saturday and slept great.

Again, I know that I need the BODY working with God and me - continued praise and thanksgiving to the Warriors ...
this morning I turned on a program with Beth Moore - right in the middle - but I heard her make this statement - Do not stop until the enemy is sorry he messed with you.

I will not stop praying, praising, worshiping, and walking in Faith that God is with Aaron, Jeremy & me and All is Well!

I am not alone

I am not alone, not only is God always with me - but my friends and family are never far off. Fiends and family are a lot like God, you have to go to them when their support is needed. Just like with God, who I must cry out to - also I must cry out to my friends and family. It seems more humbling to me to cry out to those around me then to God in my quite time. Why does it surprise me that when I have a hard day, I let others around me know - I become filled with the Holy Spirit in ways that I could never imagine ... because WE ARE THE BODY!

A friend sent me a verse that had comforted her ... " The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers then from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubled, but the Lord delivers him from them all;" - Psalm 34:17-19

This one has been added to my stack, please do not be surprised when you see me walking around with a little box of scripture - I think I just might be headed there.

But what a powerful verse - this is a promise that God gives to all, of course it does not say we will never have troubles - but what confidence we can have in God that he will be with us and then additionally deliver us from those troubles. I deeply thank my friend for sharing this verse.

Additionally the word from Joel yesterday, powerful, as I waver ... GOD IS GOOD ... ALL THE TIME!

Without Wavering
Today's Scripture
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23 NKJ).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God knew there would be times when we would be tempted to waver in our confession of hope. Maybe you are believing for something and you’re starting to think, “Is this really for me? Will this really ever happen?” If that’s you today, remember, He who promised is faithful! And His faithfulness doesn’t depend on your ability to figure it all out. His faithfulness doesn’t depend on the plans we can make or the scenarios we can come up with; He’s faithfulness depends on His Word which never changes! Declare His Word and hold on to your confession of hope today. Be confident that God can make a way when there seems to be no way. Even when your mind may waver, don’t allow your confession to waver. Declare that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Declare that He Who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it. Remember, there is power in your words and power when your words are in agreement with His Word. As you hold on to your confession of hope, you’ll see His faithfulness, and you’ll move forward into victory in every area of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. I choose to guard my confession, and I will declare hope in Your Word. I trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf and thank You for victory in every area of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

What a powerful word from the Lord. We must stay guarded, we have hope, trust and faith in our God - one area to particularly stay guarded is who we choose to surround our selves. I thank all our prayer warriors - you, through your prayers, along with God keep Aaron and I strong.

then this morning the Scripture shared by Joel ....

Higher Ways
Today's Scripture
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Sometimes it’s easy to get focused on what’s happening in the world around us. We see things on the news or hear something about the economy, and we dwell on those thoughts. Before long, those thoughts start to drag us down. But when we choose to think higher thoughts, the way God thinks, and when we choose to meditate on God’s Word, His higher thoughts will draw us to a higher level of living.
You can live above the stress and pressure of the world because He has promised to give us perfect peace when we keep our minds focused on Him. You can live above financial worries because God has promised that when we follow His Word, He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. You can live above fear and dread because God has promised that His perfect love will drive out all fear. Choose God’s higher thoughts today and allow His ways to become Your ways. Open your heart and allow Him to direct your every step. As you do, you will rise higher and higher, and you’ll live the life of victory He has in store for you.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, I humbly come to You giving You all that I am. Fill me with Your higher thoughts which will lead me in Your higher ways. Help me to look beyond my circumstances to the good things You have in store for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Lord has good and wonderful things in store for us all - we can not even imagine what He has planned - how incredibly cool.

I am reminded of Aaron's sermon Sunday, we are not humans filled with the spirit, but Spirit beings having a human experience. He went directly to Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you I knew you"
We are the children of God and he will deliver us - This human experience is not with out trouble, but thank God we are NEVER alone!

Again, my deepest thanks and praise for all the Prayer Warriors - The times are tough for me - but God offers hope when we trust him.

GRACE AND PEACE!

This morning is a struggle

Not clear this morning if I am just tired, hormonal or discouraged. But today has not started off as a typical morning., and right now is it not even 6:30 am. Woke up early, about 3am, and laid in bed talking with God - but continued to feel restless.
Again my mind wonders. I think about Jeremy all the time, most of the time imagining his life and all my hopes and dreams for him. What gets hard, the number of people at school who do not know the trial Aaron and I are facing and expect a strong healthily athletic boy - the product of 2 D1 athletes. I feel so inadequate.
In my inadequacy the only place I can turn is to the Word - a humbling of the heart for God to fill me up - and I need to be filled today. I have started to write scriptures from my daily reading on note cards to carry with me through the day - I have about 25 already. Sometimes they make me feel better - other times I just cry. Today is a crying day.
What I wrote today and will keep close
'This is the word of the Lord ... " Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit," Says the Lord Almighty. '
Zechariah 4:6

Today I pray for the Holy Spirit to come and fill me up, comfort me and protect my mind and heart as I press on.

I just checked my email - to see what Joel sent .... again, direct to my heart:

Pray God’s Promises
Today's Scripture
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (I John 5:14 NIV).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Are you believing for God to do something specific in your life today? Do you need a miracle in your health, finances, or relationships? When you pray God’s promises found in His Word, you can be confident that He hears your prayers. The scripture tells us that there is power when two are in agreement, and no matter what you may be facing, you and God are a majority. Find the specific scriptures that address what you are believing for and write them on note cards. Study those scriptures and make those promises your prayers. If you need healing, you can pray, “Father, You said in Isaiah 53 that by Your stripes I am healed.” If you need provision for something, you can pray, “Father, thank You for Your promise to provide all my needs according to Your riches in glory.” Whatever you may need today, the most powerful thing you can do is to pray and declare God’s promises. As you do, you will see Him move on your behalf, and you’ll live the life of victory He has in store for you.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for Your promises. I know You are faithful to Your Word, and I choose to come into agreement with Your promises. Fill me with Your confidence as I declare Your Word. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I will continue to lean on the promises of God, and ALL IS WELL!
the Spirit of God is in me - and if God is with me - who dares be against me!
- thank you for allowing me to share ....

Why we need to pray for each other

Aaron preached today, he always does a great job - but today the verse that he based the sermon on spoke deeply to me and I felt it necessary to share with our praying community.
He titled the sermon: "Will you rely on self - or will you Pray"
the Scripture he based the talk:
2 Corinthians 1:8-11
8 We do not want you to be uniformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. 9 Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of the many.

For me, I witnessed a new light through this passage - I am sure directly due to the current circumstance of my life. I know that Aaron and I are facing major adversity and trials. (that we know will not be answered for 39 more weeks )
But as stated in this passage, we go through these different situations that we cannot not rely on our self, the only way through is with God. When Paul wrote, he was letting the people of Corinth know that it was not going well for him in Asia - the pressure was far beyond anything he thought they could endure, they would rather die. I can directly relate to what Paul was feeling. Daily I have to lean on God to continue to press on and move forward walking in Faith that God is good and he rewards those that do his will. Reading that Paul received the revelation knowledge the he was put through this time in order to be drawn closer to God - and rely on Him to deliver them - provides hope for me and words to add comfort.

Paul goes on to say that relying on God is part of it ... the other was the community that was praying for him. The community praying, along with God, provided the deliverance necessary. HOW AWESOME!
Reaching out to each other We need to all pray for each other, in all circumstance. Because then Paul finishes this section with the statement ... Then MANY will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of MANY.

How totally cool will it be to come together in the Kingdom, rejoicing and giving praise and thanksgivng when we witness answered prayers. We are all in this together .... no one can do it alone - we need the body in prayer on all things.

For me this is huge, I am the girl that for MANY MANY years could handle everything on my own. I tend to keep large walls around my heart, thoughts, and struggles. Asking for help in my mind was weak - I am slowly but clearly seeing that was a lie constructed by Satan to keep me and those around me from attaining all the glory and blessings that God has in store for those who fully trust him.

I fully believe that through out this trial, over the next 4 months, God is going to do something big in me and around me. Please continue to pray for Me, Aaron and Jeremy - who is moving more and more each day. Jeremy seems to move the most when listening to praise music, Aaron preach, and Aaron whistle. Which until recently, I did not appreciate the whistling of Aaron. :)

Again, we thank all that keep our family on your prayer list - we would also love to pray for you, if you have any requests, please post them and we will add your request to our prayers.

Lucas Oil Stadium

What a treat ... Sunday the 18th Aaron, my Father and I were able to go see the new home of the Colts, Lucas Oil Stadium. HOW COOL!!! First is a south view, if you walk in the "main" entrance and walk to the field ....

We then walked around to the other side and stepped out on the 5/6 level ( later were realized we were higher then our seats, but what a cool shot) The North End of the field is open .. you can see the old dome and the Indy sky line. The day was so clear, looking out the window gave the feel of a picture.
Same shot, with out the zoom.
Just some proof, we were there:)
We opted not to wait in the wrap around line to walk through the Colts locker room and then on the field. But we did sit in some seats and watch the retractable roof open in about 8 min. What a different feel the open air gives the entire stadium .. I wonder how that will do with the noise level the old Dome was known for? So how did we score this awesome opportunity? One of the guys in our Life Group ( our couples bible study) works for the Colts and was able to get season ticket passes for the grand opening for our group - that was an awesome perk! I doubt I will make it to a Colts game this year, Aaron will, but for me, that was perfect. I got to watch people and not be distracted by the football. I would much rather watch a game at home with friends and family and good treats.

My high school team will be playing in the Stadium Sept.5, but it is unlikely that we will go due to the fact that the following morning the volleyball team hosts a tournament. But we will see ... tickets are still available.

Looking for God

It is always overwhelming to me when I am desperately seeking to see or hear from God in a big way. I sometimes imagine a deep booming voice speaking grand words of wisdom and encouragement to me. That has yet to happen - but what does happen are very small things through out the day.
Yesterday morning I was seeking comfort in God, it was a hard drive into school - a mixture of the music I was listening to and where my thoughts traveled. I sat in my car a while before entering school, found some composure and entered the building. During my first period class, Jewelry, I was cutting sheet metal for the first project and I noticed on my cutter two magnetic words. believe and laugh. I laughed and said a prayer of thanksgiving to God. First, I did not know the cutter was magnetic, and second I have no idea who might have placed them in that location and when. Do I care - no.
It was the encouragement I was seeking.

When I shared the story with Aaron, he smiled and said remember Sarah, Abraham's wife, laughed when she heard that she would become pregnant. God is just so cool. He places the perfect word of encouragement when needed and the people to help you understand when the word arrives.

I will continue to look for God around me ... wonder where and how he will show up today.

Ordination of Aaron

Sunday August 3rd, Aaron was officially ordained at Northview Christian Life Church in Carmel Indiana. This was a very special day for our Family and Friends.

Aaron's Parents .... it was great to see both of Aaron's sisters and his brother came in with his family from St Louis. Unfortunately, we did not get a BIG family picture. But this is a good one.

Armor of God

Joel along with Stormie .. and my daily reading continue to offer comfort and peace for Aaron and I .... Had to share Joel's word on the FULL armor of God:)
We have pictures to share, including Aaron's Ordination and our Trip to the NEW Lucas Oil Stadium. Hope to post pix tomorrow.
GRACE AND PEACE!

The Armor of God
Today's Scripture
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm (Ephesians 6:13 NLT).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God has fully equipped you today with everything you need to stand strong in the midst of any battle you may be facing. He’s provided His full armor to protect your heart and mind. Ephesians 6:14-17, tells us about God’s spiritual armor that covers us—He’s given us the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith which stops the fiery darts of the enemy, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. When you receive God’s truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and His Word, you are fully protected to resist the enemy and stand firm. Remember, God holds victory in store for the upright. As you put on His armor by faith you will be positioned to receive His victory. You will be strengthened and empowered to live as an overcomer in every area of your life!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for equipping me with everything I need to live as an overcomer in this life. I receive your full armor knowing that with You I can stand and overcome every obstacle. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Readings

For the second year, I am reading through the bible. Last year I read The Daily Bible, it contains 365 chronological readings. Starting in Genesis and ending in Revelation. It was great - and I stuck with it. This year I selected The Power of a Praying Woman Bible by Stormie Omartian. This has been more difficult to stick with, since I have been on my own as far as how much to read each day and then when summer hit , I was out of my school schedule - I not very consistent. But over the last month I have been catching up - reading more daily.

When Aaron came home one day, after we had been talking about namesfor our boy, he arrived with Jeremy. What book was I reading at the time??? Jeremiah. We felt confirmed that Jeremiah would be our sons name and we would call him Jeremy. Where does Parker come from .. not the bible. But from the maternal side of the family. Samuel Parker was a Presbyterian Missionary that headed west on the Oregon Trail and assisted in setting up Oregon as a State. His name is in the Rotunda in the State Capitol in Eugene, Oregon. My Mothers family still lives in Oregon.

So what does this have to do with my daily reading, well since the 17 week ultra sound and devastating news from the Doctors my daily reading has become powerful. The prayers from Stormie provide guidance for me in the word of God. Through out the bible she has placed short articles called "From Stormie's Heart". They help to understand how to pray and provide a study of the word. Which brings me to my reading today I am paraphrasing and not writing the entire article ...
"Four Reasons We Go Through Difficult Times"
1: Sometimes difficult things happen to us so that the glory and power of God can be revealed in and through us.
(John 9:3) Jesus passes by a blind man and the disciples ask if he sinned or his parents sinned to cause the blindness from birth. Jesus says neither - this happened so that the work of God could be displayed in his life.
WE often do not understand way certain things happen and my never know why - until we go to be with the Lord. We must turn to God in the midst of difficult times, Gods Glory will be seen in them and on you.
2: Sometimes God uses difficult times to purify us.
(1 peter 4:1 ) (Hebrews 12:10) God wants us to let go of the the things we lust after - God wants us to cling to what is most important in life -Him
3: Sometimes our misery is caused by God disciplining us.
(Hebrews 12:11) " No discipline at the time seems pleasant, but later on it is going to bring a great harvest" God must prune us continually. What comes from the pruning will be better then imagined. We must be careful not to resist or hate it ... (Hebrews 12:5-6)
4: Sometimes we are caught in the midst of the enemy's work.
It is the delight of the enemy to make us miserable. Often your reason for anguish, sorrow, sadness, grief, or pain felt is entirely his doing and is of no fault of your own. Comfort comes from knowing that as you praise God in the midst of it, He will defeat the enemy and bring good out of it. Good that we can not even fathom - HOW COOL! God wants for us to walk in faith with Him. As He leads we will learn to trust Him in all things.

STORMIE: Every time you raise above the pain in your life and find goodness, clarity, peace, and light of the Lord there, your faith will increase. God will meet you in the midst of your pain and not only perfect you, but increase your compassion for the sufferings of others. As you continue to live in the presence of the Lord, His glory will be revealed in you.

This entry seems long - but the Word of God is so rich with encouragement, thanksgiving and understanding. What an awesome experience to be drawn into the Word of God with clarity, faith and hope. With His strength - we can do anything and come out better.
Blessings to you all

Jeremy

Not the biggest picture , but I was sure you would all like to see who you are praying for ... we are in love with him:)

I am not sure he is in this same position, he seems to be quite active and Aaron has even been able to feel some movement.

A dear friend imagined his movements saying " Hey Mom, I am okay! "

Thanks again for all the Prayers, we will be strong relying on Gods strength.

Peace

This week has been tough, sharing the news with our Friends and Family - Our Prayer Warriors. Sharing the news is hard, but each time I share, I also feel peace. We are all in this together. God did not plan for us to go through tough times alone. He sent his Holy Spirit to comfort and other Christians to also help with each burden. As humans, we tend to appear strong by not asking for support or sharing the scary things - I think that is an evil and dark force moving through the universe - we need to come together on all things. Good and not so good. By coming together we create a united force that is unbreakable.

So a blessing of praise and thanksgiving to all that I have spoken with, emailed and have read the blog and have become the Prayer Warriors for Jeremy ... and Aaron and me. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people of the Kingdom.

A Place of Abundance
Today's Scripture

…We went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance (Psalm 66:12 NIV).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Everyone has times in life when they feel like they are going through the fire or perhaps feel overwhelmed with everyday life. If that’s you today, understand that God is going to bring you through those challenges; He’s going to bring you through the fire and the flood into a place of abundance. We serve a God of more than enough, and His heart is to always make sure you have whatever you need to be successful in every area of your life. The Bible says that Jesus came so that we can have life—abundant life! He wants you to have an abundance of resources, an abundance of wisdom, an abundance of peace—everything you need. Open your heart and thank Him for His goodness. Begin to receive His promises by faith. Remember, your praise opens the door for Him to move on your behalf, and He wants to take you to a place of abundance in every area of your life!
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I humbly come to You today, giving You all that I am. Thank You for leading and guiding me into a place of abundance. I give You all the glory and praise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

a word from Joel

After posting ... I checked my email - I think Joel is writing to me!

He Will Deliver You
Today's Scripture
“Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Are you facing trouble in any area of your life today? God is standing ready to deliver you. He promises in His Word that He is near to all those who call upon His name. No matter what you may be going through, have confidence knowing that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He promises to deliver you! Notice that this verse tells us that our part is to honor and glorify Him. You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to give Him praise. You can give Him honor and glory right now. You can thank Him for all He’s done in your life so far, and what He will do in your future. Call on Him today and focus on having an attitude of faith and expectancy. Speak His Word and declare His promises over your life, knowing that He promises to deliver you. Trust in Him because He will take you places you’ve never dreamed. As you praise Him, He’ll take you higher and higher into the life of victory He has in store for you!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, today I call upon Your Name. I call upon You as my Salvation and my Deliverer. I trust that You are working on my behalf and choose to give You all the honor and glory. In Jesus’ Name.

And Still - we will pray, trust, and believe

We met with our DR today, the amino came back showing an extra chromosome 13, Trisomy 13. Aaron and I have not done any reasearch regarding this - so we really cannot answer questions. Purposly, we have stayed away from the internet. We will be meeting with genetic professionals in the future.
From the ultra sound, the DR stated the baby is unlikely to live outside the womb. That is from the DR, but I love the Lord with all my heart and trust that he will bring Aaron and I through this set back.
We simply ask for your continued prayers for our family - Aaron and I ... and Jeremiah "Jeremy" Parker Shelby. Jeremy means Appointed by God

My Favorite Proverb and Psalm ...
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14

phone tag

I have been playing phone tag with my Dr this week - so we have not spoken. BUT we do go in next Tuesday the 12th (10:15 am) for an appointment that was previously scheduled. I am sure we will learn something at that time.

This week I have felt our little guy moving, in the morning about 20 min after I eat - it is a VERY cool feeling. The first day was Tuseday, and he has moved daily since. ( well i have felt him move since, he has been moving all along)

God is pretty amazing, this week Aaron and I have found ourselves in positions of encouragement - that we need to encourage those around us ... through those expereinces we have also been encouraged, thanks to the Word of the Lord.

I am lookng forward to a Saturday afternoon nap and then clean out my closet to get ready for school to start ... Monday.

thank you for continued prayers ... we are close to sharing the name so you can pray spacifically for him, by name.

Greater Than You Imagined
Today's Scripture
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him" (I Corinthians 2:9).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Because God loves you, He has supernatural blessings in store for you; increase, favor, good breaks, supernatural opportunities. His dream for your life is so much greater than you ever imagined. You haven’t seen anything yet! You may have a dream to get well again, or to be able to walk without pain, but God’s dream for you is not only that you will walk, but that you be able to run and play like you did when you were a child. Your dream may be just to keep your marriage together, but God’s dream is that your marriage would be happier, healthier, and more fulfilling than you ever thought possible!
Your dream may be to just pay your bills and make it through each month, but God’s dream is that you have an abundance, that you be totally out of debt, pay your house off, pay your credit cards off, and have so much overflow that you can be a blessing to everyone around you! Get ready because God has greater blessings in store for you that you ever imagined. Open you heart today and keep an attitude of faith and expectancy and you will live the abundant life the Lord has prepared for you!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for Your hand of blessing on my life. I open my heart and receive by faith all You have me. Fill me with your peace and joy as I continue to trust in You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Still Waiting ...

NO word from any of the medical professionals about our little boy ...
but many thanks to all who have lifted our family in prayer. WE CAN FEEL IT!!!

Aarons ordination Sunday was powerful - what an amazing experience!
Volleyball is now in full swing, we posted teams today and start "serious" practice tomorrow.
This week has been busy - and it is only Tuesday!

Again ... a word from Joel Osteen (so perfect)
God of the Suddenlies
Today's Scripture
“I foretold the former things long ago, My mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass” (Isaiah 48:3).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Our God is a God of the suddenlies! Suddenly, He can turn your situation around. Suddenly, He can give you the break you need. You may have been dealing with the same problem for ten years. It may look like it’s never going to change, but in a split second, God can totally resolve it. No matter how long it’s been, no matter what you’re facing, you’ve got to believe that God is full of surprises. One touch of His favor and He can move the wrong people out of your life and move the right people into your life. One touch of God’s favor and He can take you from having barely enough to having more than enough. You may not see how it’s all going to work out, but you don’t have to figure it all out. Your part is to simply believe; to get up each day in faith, expecting God’s favor. Expect something good to happen to you today. Expect God to surprise you. Remember, He’s a God of the suddenlies and He can suddenly turn around any situation you may be facing!

A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, today I come to You, giving You my cares and worries. I believe that You are working behind the scenes and expect You to suddenly turn things in my favor. Thank You for everything You are doing in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

We have a boy!

With in the first few minutes we knew it was certainly a boy. Which of course Aaron and I expected.

But what came in the next hour was not expected. We checked out all the baby parts with the tech, the heart beat was 151, perfect she said ... she printed off some images for us to look at then the DR came in ... he looked at some more things then stopped and said the news is not good. All the words that followed are still jumbled in my head. We had an amino done and should have preliminary results as early as Saturday, defiantly by Monday the 4th.

My next appointment is Tuesday Aug 12th. From there we will know more.

Aaron and I are trusting in the Lord, we know the plans he has for us and our baby and they are not plans of harm. We serve a loving and kind God and have placed our fears, sadness and trust in him. PLEASE pray for all three of us. We find comfort in the word of the Lord - he is our warrior.

TODAY from Joel Osteen:
Dwell in Safety and Trust
Today's Scripture
"In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust" (Psalm 4:8).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God has promised to be your Protector, your Defender, your Strength, your Shelter and so much more! Even when the storms of life come against you, as long as you are dwelling in Him, you dwell in safety and trust—nothing can take away your peace and joy. What does it mean to dwell in Him? One of the definitions of the word “dwell” means to keep your attention directed toward something. The more you keep your attention directed toward God, the more you will know Him and the more confidence you will have in Him. When you focus your heart and mind on the Word of God and declare His promises over your life, you are dwelling in Him. When you lift your voice in worship and give Him glory and honor, you are dwelling in Him. When you spend time meditating on Him and connecting to Him through prayer, you are dwelling in Him. Are you facing a difficult situation? Give your attention to the Father. Do you need His peace and protection? Focus your heart and mind on Him. As you dwell on Him, you will see His goodness and you’ll live in peace and victory all the days of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for Your promise of peace and safety in my life. I choose to give my attention to You. Have Your way in me and let everything I do bring glory to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
