For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mothers womb.
I will prase You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:13-14
devotion: Unquestionalbly, the psalm containing this passage is one of David's most beautiful - a masterpiece of God-insipred truth. It celebrated God's involvement in the formation, both naturally and spiritually, of a child in the womb. Since the children of the righteous are usually consecrated to God prior to birth, the promises in this song of praise apply to them even more powerfully.
In the passage above, David calimed that the Most High actually formed his "inward parts". That could mean the organs of the body that are hidden from view, or it could mean the soul and the spirit (the human personality and spiritual compacity of a child). Probably, it means both. So one of God's "marvelous works" is the implanting of a predetermined personality that must be perfected and a potential spirituality that must be awakened in a child that is yet to be born. As parents, we are called to assist in this process.
In the next two verses, David thrust his spiritual perception into a futuristic mode. Prayerfully he declared, "Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them " Psalm 139:15-16. So when a child is dedicatd to God, there is a providential plan that unfolds like a huge red carpet, stretching all the way from the womb to the grave, then onward into eternity. Contemplating these promises should cause us to conclude, as David did - "such knowledge is too wonderful for me" Psalm 139:6.
prayer: Lord God, I believe that my child has been "fearfully and wonderfully made." I confess that Your hand covers JEREMIAH PARKER SHELBY in the womb and that Your hand will cover him all the days of his life. I believe that You have fromed my child's "inward parts" (the potential personality and inner, spiritual capacity) I rest in this truth and pray that You will continue to involve Yourself in the soulish and spiritual development of my child, just as You involved Yourself in his physical development in the womb. Finally, I confess that the future of my child is not up to chance; You have a plan for JEREMY. I praise You for causing it to unfold perfectly according to Your pleasure. Such knowledge is so wonderful; it turns my heart upward in worship to You, O Lord of the past present and future. I declare victory in advance - In Jesus' name, AMEN (LET IT BE SO!)
Saturday was a good day, Jeremy was active and I was able to finish the 5 projects on my bead table, take a nap, attend church and a birthday party ... I did not get the room packed up - Today is the day, after Brookside Church ...
Please continue to pray for Jeremy's heart and the fluids in the womb to increase. I have not been feeling any braxton-hicks, today we hit the 36 week mark ... 4 more to go.

Beth-It was great to meet you at Andy and Jenni's, although I guess we never formally met. You will all be in our prayers and are such a testiment to God's faithfulness and how He meets us where we are at. I pray for "peace that passes understanding" as you rest in His sovereignty- such a powerful word.
